How does a solar cover heat the pool water?
A solar cover works by utilising the natural greenhouse effect. The cover is placed directly onto the water surface with the bubbles facing downwards. The flat top layer absorbs the sun's rays, which rapidly heats the air trapped inside the bubbles underneath.

• The Result: This thermal energy is transferred directly and evenly across the entire pool surface. Depending on sunlight intensity and your pool's surface area, the Classic model can raise your water temperature by 3 to 7°C - without any electricity or heating costs.

Does the cover also protect the pool water from losing heat overnight?
Yes, and this is actually one of its greatest advantages! During cool summer nights, an uncovered pool loses up to 80% of the warmth gathered during the day, primarily driven by surface evaporation.

• The Insulation Layer: The air-filled bubbles of the cover act as a thermal barrier (very similar to double-glazed windows in homes). It slashes water evaporation by up to 90% and traps the heat inside the pool. If you use a heat pump, this saves massive amounts of electricity because the heater has to do significantly less work the next morning.

How do I store the Classic solar cover correctly when the pool isn't in use?
When removing the cover from the pool during the day (or packing it away for the winter), it is best wound onto a dedicated pool roller reel system.

• Important Note: If the rolled or folded cover is left exposed to direct, blazing sunlight, a dangerous magnifying glass effect occurs. The heat inside the rolled layers can become so extreme that the plastic bubbles can melt and fuse together. Therefore, always shield the rolled-up cover in the garden with an opaque white protective solar cover in summer, and store it in a dry, frost-free location during the winter.
