HEISSNER Pressure Filters
Pond filter systems for biotopes, garden ponds and compact fish ponds
Pressure filters are a compact and flexible solution for water purification in garden ponds. Thanks to their closed system, they can be installed in a space-saving manner and can even be operated below the water level. Pressure filters are particularly suitable for small to medium-sized ornamental ponds and fish ponds, as they efficiently combine mechanical and biological filtration stages.
The HEISSNER product range includes high-performance pressure filter systems that are perfectly matched to Pond Pumps and ensure permanently clear water.

What is a pressure filter?
A pressure filter is a closed filtration system in which a pond pump forces water under pressure through several filter stages. Once purified, the water can be returned to the pond or even directed to higher-level watercourses and water features.
Which ponds are suitable for a pressure filter?
- Small to medium-sized garden ponds
- Ornamental ponds with moderate fish stocks
- Ponds featuring a watercourse or slight elevation changes
- Ponds with limited installation space
What are the advantages of a pressure filter?
- Compact design
- Flexible and potentially discreet installation
- Suitable for feeding watercourses and waterfalls
- Simple maintenance, depending on the specific model
How long should a pressure filter run?
During the pond season, continuous 24-hour operation is recommended to ensure stable water parameters. In the colder months, operation can be adjusted or paused, depending on the local climate and the depth of the pond.
How often does a pressure filter need to be cleaned?
Depending on the size of the pond, fish population, and time of year, cleaning is typically required every 2–6 weeks. During the peak summer months or with higher waste loads, more frequent cleaning may be beneficial.
