Why isn't it enough to simply add chlorine to the pool?
Chlorine is a sanitiser for invisible germs, not a rubbish bin. When leaves, insects, or pollen land in your pool, they begin to decompose immediately. If you leave these debris particles in the water, your chlorine has to constantly work to eliminate this organic matter, causing it to deplete at an alarming rate.

Which net do I need - a surface skimmer or a deep leaf rake?
CF. Group offers different types of nets because debris accumulates on two distinct levels in a pool:

  • Surface Skimmer Nets (Flat): These feature a flat, taut net. They are designed to swiftly and elegantly scoop floating debris like leaves, hair, or flies off the water surface.
  • Deep Leaf Rakes (Bag Net): These come with a deep mesh bag and often a rugged, reinforced leading edge. This allows you to scoop along the pool floor to collect large amounts of sunken leaves or small twigs like a scoop, without the debris swirling back out into the pool.

How often should I clean the pool walls with a brush?
Even if the water looks pristine, an invisible, slightly slippery film (known as a biofilm) develops on the pool walls and floor over time. This is the ultimate breeding ground for algae.

  • The Expert Tip: It is best to scrub the walls and corners of your pool once a week with a dedicated CF. Group pool brush.
