Description
The Krystal Clear SX1500 Sand Filter System is designed for above-ground pools, including frame pools, with a recommended volume of up to 20,000 litres (maximum 26,423 litres). It delivers a system flow rate of 3,700 L/h, with a pump flow rate of 5,700 L/h and a power consumption of 130 W, to help keep pool water clear. An integrated timer with an automatic 24-hour repeat function makes it easy to schedule daily filtration.
Extend your pool care setup
The filter system can be combined with an Intex saltwater system, such as the QS500 or QS1200, which generates chlorine from dissolved salt for water disinfection. Both units have built-in timers, allowing their daily filtration and chlorination cycles to be coordinated.
Recommended addition:
- For pools up to 26,500 litres: Intex Krystal Clear QS500 Saltwater System
Key features:
- Automatic daily filtration: The integrated timer repeats the selected cycle every 24 hours, so there is no need to start filtration manually each day.
- Straightforward controls: The 6-way valve lets you select filter, backwash, rinse, waste, recirculate and closed settings.
- 130 W power consumption: A clearly specified power rating helps you plan the running costs of your daily filtration schedule.
- Choice of filter media: The 254 mm diameter tank can hold 12 kg of filter sand, 8.5 kg of filter glass or 350 g of filter balls.

why did I not upgrade earlier
having owned an intex 12 ft pool for 3 years I knew the filter/pump that came with it was adequate, I still had to empty and refill about twice during summer (maybe I wasn’t keeping on top of water maintenance)
but in May 2021 I purchased the smaller Intex sand filter SF90220-1
wow wow wow
purchased 32/38 adapters for connecting and just swapped the pump
even after a week of neglect ( a quick shock) the water looks like I’ve just filled it with fresh water

Great Pump
great pump and filter, despite some issues with connecting it(it was only supplied with one (outlet)) it to the pool and delivery. I ordered the 38mm stuff, so with only one valve i was stuck as the pool was being used already - a quick trip to the local fish pond shop - 38mm tank connectors - boom. I have had my pool (or at least my 6y/o daughter's) up and running for 8 weeks now, in the UK the weather has not been great, but nonetheless, we have kept the pool running and sparkling clear, largely because of the filter. And yes we have been swimming in it with the help of the SUN.
I would recommend highly, but probably needs a professional installer if new to this or indeed plumbing of this nature! Was this rating helpful? (1) (0)

Great unit
Really easy to set-up and once done performs far better that the cartridge filter ite replaced. A major upside is the consistent performance without the need for constant maintenance.
